Confirmation
Our Confirmation program is offered every other year. Teens are eligible to participate in this one-year class beginning in the eighth grade. At the conclusion of the program, students may choose to be confirmed by our bishop at a diocesan confirmation service.
Throughout the year, we explore many aspects of what it means to make a mature commitment to the Christian faith and to the church. Using the “My Faith, My Life” curriculum, we explore together church history, scripture, worship, prayer, the Episcopal Church, Christian responsibility, and our culture as it relates to Christianity.
Recognizing that this is a time of questioning for our teens, we strive to support, challenge and empower them as they explore their faith and its meaning in their everyday lives. Confirmation students attend class and worship regularly, participate in City Reach, an overnight service project focusing on homelessness, and attend an overnight retreat at the Barbara C. Harris Camp and Conference Center.
Confirmation class begins at 9:00 a.m. After class, students join family or friends at the start of the 10:00 a.m. church service.
Our next Confirmation class will begin in September 2013.
