Christian Education for Children and Teens
Christ Church welcomes families and children of all ages. We invite new students to join our classes at the start of the school year. We also welcome visitors and newcomers at any point during the year.
Three common threads run through our education programs: building knowledge and understanding of the Bible, and what it means to us; learning about the Episcopal Church's traditions and worship; and fostering a life-long commitment to serving others. Throughout the year, our children/teens are actively engaged in good works: participating in clothing drives for Boston shelters, writing to pen pals at an orphanage in Bolivia, making Valentine’s Day care packages for our service people and college students, and traveling to disaster areas in the U.S. to re-build homes. Our programs give youth opportunities to make friends, explore their faith, and put their faith into action.
Classes begin at 9:45 a.m. on Sunday mornings. Children and teens rejoin their families at the ongoing 10:00 a.m. service during the Passing of the Peace, so that they can be with their families for Holy Communion.
Please click on the links to the right to read more about the programs for each age group. For more information, contact the Reverend Lynn Campbell at lynn@ccneedham.org or 781-444-1469.
Child Care
We provide child care for infants through age three on Sundays beginning at 9:30 a.m. until the end of the 10:00 a.m. worship service. Child care is provided on Sundays when Church School meets. Please ask an usher for directions. As always, infants and young children are also welcome at our worship service.
Calendar
Our church school programs begin the first Sunday after Labor Day and continue through mid-May, except during holiday and school vacation weekends (following the Needham Pubic School calendar). Click here for the 2012/13 Church School Calendar.
Registration
We request that parents register their children for church school classes, based on the child's grade level. Church School Registration and an opportunity to meet the teachers will take place at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, September 9.
You can download the Registration and Photo Release forms here, or contact the Church Office at office@ccneedham.org or 781-444-1469.
