Curate
The Reverend Peter Tierney has served as Curate at Christ Church since 2007. He assists the Rector in conducting worship, coordinating pastoral care, and building up the Body of Christ in faith, with a special focus on faith formation and education for the older youth and adults in the parish.
A lifelong Episcopalian, Peter is a native of upstate New York, where he was very active in youth ministry and the Christian summer arts camp sponsored by his home parish. He received his B.A. from Hobart College, in Geneva NY, and attended seminary at Yale Divinity School in New Haven, CT, where he completed courses of study for the degrees Master of Divinity and Master of Sacred Theology. He wrote his master’s thesis on the divine inspiration of the Bible. He is especially interested in the relationship between Christian teachings and the experience of Christian faith.
Peter resides in Needham with his wife Veronica, who is also an Episcopal priest, and their Portuguese Water Dog, Zipper.
